About Iñaki Sánchez Unibaso

Iñaki Sánchez Unibaso is an international energy, innovation, and business development expert with over 25 years of experience leading projects across Europe and the United States. His career combines engineering excellence, strategic consulting, renewable energy, leadership development, and international business.

He holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (New York, USA) and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Wichita State University (Kansas, USA). His international education and multilingual background have enabled him to successfully manage complex projects in multicultural environments.

Since 1999, Iñaki has worked at Iberdrola, one of the world's leading energy companies, where he has held a variety of strategic positions. His expertise includes Smart Grids, Grid Flexibility, Energy Storage Systems, Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure, Asset Risk Management, Business Process Improvement, Power Trading, and European Union innovation projects focused on sustainability and the energy transition.

Throughout his career, he has contributed to major European initiatives, including FUTURED, ATELIER, EU-DEEP, and ECO-CITY, helping drive the implementation of advanced energy technologies, renewable energy solutions, and smart city developments.

Before joining Iberdrola, he worked as a Senior Consultant at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, leading ERP implementation projects, knowledge management initiatives, and business transformation programs. He also gained valuable industrial engineering experience at General Electric, Mercedes-Benz, Deutsche Telekom, Beechcraft Aircraft, and Cessna Aircraft.

Beyond his corporate career, Iñaki is the Founder and General Manager of HI5-LINX, an international organization that develops educational, cultural, sports, and professional exchange programs between Europe and the United States. He is also the General Manager of Koinkuster Global Consulting, providing consulting services in innovation, energy efficiency, sustainability, and renewable energy implementation.

His passion for personal growth has also led him to work as a Life Coach, delivering workshops focused on decision-making methodologies, leadership, and personal development for individuals and organizations.

A lifelong advocate of sports and education, Iñaki has over 20 years of experience as a football goalkeeper coach and founded the Barrika Football School. Through HI5-LINX Sports, he continues to mentor young athletes pursuing professional careers.

Fluent in English, Spanish, and German, with additional proficiency in French and Portuguese, Iñaki brings a truly international perspective to every project.
